About Business
Avnet is a top America-based electronics company, established in 1921 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The company was originally founded by a man named Charles Avnet, who was half Russian and half Jewish immigrant. He used to buy radio parts in bulk and sell them to the public. After a while, when factories started making radios to replace the radio parts, Avnet started selling its radio parts to dealers. He also started wholesaling radio parts after the Great Depression. Avnet also contributed to World War II by supplying antennas for the United States armed forces. After the end of war, he again shifted his focus to dealing with electronic parts. He finally established its company as Avnet Electronic Supply in 1955, and started supplying switches, capacitors and related parts to businesses.
