Colgate-Palmolive is a multinational consumer goods company headquartered at Park Avenue, New York City, United States. Founded in 1806, it produces personal care, health care, and even veterinary products. William Colgate, an American immigrant, started the William Colgate & Company to set up a soap, candle, and starch factory. Unfortunately, William Colgate had a cardiac arrest, and his business was stopped for some time. He restarted its business by selling soap cakes. Colgate died in 1857, and the company was managed and renamed by Samuel Colgate as Colgate & Company. Colgate toothpaste was introduced in 1873 and was sold in jars. After that, in 1896, it sold the first toothpaste in tube packaging, which was known as Colgate Ribbon Dental Cream.
