Dana company was formed in 1904 by Clarence W. Spicer, Charles A. Dana, Joseph Victor, Hugo Reinz, and J.B. Long and headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, U.S. The history of this company traces back to 1904 its founders started producing universal joints. They incorporated the Spicer Universal Joint Manufacturing Company in 1905. Soon, the company was renamed Spicer Manufacturing Company. When Charles Dana joined the company in 1914 and became president, the company was rebranded as Dana Corporation.
