Foot Locker is a U.S.-based clothing retail company formed in 1974 and headquartered in New York City, U.S. This multinational company provides sportswear and footwear and operates stores in about 40 countries. It was founded in 1974 but became an independent company in 1988. It is a successor company of F.W. Woolworth Company, which was renamed Foot Locker in 2001. The company operates a whole chain of retail stores for athletic footwear and provides brands such as Champs Sports, House of Hoops, Footaction USA, etc. The history of this company started in 1963 when F.W. Woolworth Company acquired the Kinney Shoe Corporation and ran it as a subsidiary. Soon, the Kinney Shoe Corporation started opening shoe stores such as Sylco, Foot Locker, and Susie Casuals. It opened its very first First Locker store in California city.
