About Business
Mohawk Industries is a U.S.-based flooring manufacturing company, formed in 1878 and headquartered in Calhoun, Georgia, U.S. This company produces floor products for commercial and residential uses in North America and Europe. It produces carpets, rugs, carpet cushions, and carpet tiles. It also manufactures ceramic products, hardwood flooring, and natural stones. Mohawk also started manufacturing insulation and mezzanine flooring. The history of this company traces back to 1875 when William Shuttleworth, along with his four sons, started a carpet mill, and after his death, his sons carried the business. In 1902, they formed a company as the Shuttleworth Brothers Company. The company finally got its name as Mohawk Carpet Mills in 1920 after merging with McCleary, Wallin, and Crouse. Soon, it became the largest producer of the floor manufacturing company.
