Zimmer Biomet Holdings is a U.S.-based medical device company, formed in 1927, and headquartered in Warsaw, Indiana, U.S. It was started to provide aluminum splints. Zimmer was separated from Bristol-Myers Squibb and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in 2001. This company acquired ExtraOrtho, Inc. in 2011. After one year, this company acquired Reno, Nevada-based Synvasive Technology, Inc. In 2014, Zimmer announced that it would acquire Biomet Inc., and later that year, it also acquired ETEX Holdings, Inc. Zimmer Biomet Holdings produces and sells orthopedics products such as hip, shoulder, foot, dental prostheses, knee, and artificial joints.
